A family of four living on the Upper East Side wanted to give their living room a needed boost of color, and to create a modern, luxurious feel in their apartment. But we found that their oversized brown couches and taupe walls were crowding out sunlight, making it difficult to create the space they wanted.

As a dual-purpose space, the living room needed to be both suitable for hosting guests as well as being comfortable enough for a weekend game night.
